  • Equality, diversity and inclusion

    Equality, diversity and inclusion

Equality and inclusion are about recognising and removing the barriers that deter or prevent people from getting involved in physical activity. That’s why Active Lincolnshire is working to change the culture of sport and physical activity to one that values diversity, creating accessible activity opportunities that meet the needs of disadvantaged groups.

And having a wider range of activities isn’t just good for members. With more on offer, clubs can get better exposure, reach more customers and run a more successful facility – with inclusion at its core.

Through funding, diversity training and local initiatives, we help clubs and facilities in Lincolnshire offer opportunities for every ability, ethnicity, gender, age group and economic status, supporting the health and wellbeing of the people that need it most.

To find out more about equality and inclusion, including local data and education resources, visit our Knowledge Hub.

  • Leisure operators

    Leisure operators

At Active Lincolnshire, we work with leisure operators to facilitate meetings, share best practices and identify common challenges – creating a unified leisure network across the county. Through this network, we gather local data and insights to help us understand activity levels in Lincolnshire, allowing us to create reports, identify opportunities for improvement, and secure any relevant additional funding.

By unifying Lincolnshire’s leisure sector, we support providers to better understand opportunities for growth and funding, as well as helping them to identify where the biggest impact can be achieved. We also connect providers with other sectors and services – including social prescribing, health services and community groups – allowing them to increase engagement and reach new, alternative customers.

Additionally, we support leisure operators to upskill staff, giving them the skills they need to work with different target groups – such as people with disabilities or special needs. In areas facing inequalities or high inactivity, we also support targeted leisure providers to access local and national funding opportunities, ensuring the provision of services.

  • Coaching agencies

    Coaching agencies

Coaching agencies are an invaluable resource in Lincolnshire, giving schools and community organisations the chance to offer a broader range of activities. That’s why we support coaching agencies across the county to build connections and grow their services, helping them provide a host of fun, inclusive sessions.

By facilitating meetings, sharing best practices and identifying common challenges, Active Lincolnshire works to create a unified network of coaching agencies. We also connect agencies with opportunities to access training and upskilling – both in and out of the sector. These opportunities include local project delivery, connecting with health services and tackling inequalities. In areas facing greater inequalities or high inactivity, we also help targeted coaching agencies expand their services and support the local community.
