Workplace wellbeing
Active Lincolnshire can support organisations with workplace wellbeing to help their employees be more active as part of their daily working routine. A more physically active workforce can enhance the productivity of an organisation, reduce absenteeism and extend the length of working life.
With 1 in 3 residents over the age of 50 typically developing long term health conditions resulting in withdrawing from the workplace, absences can result in a significant loss of value to organisations. The national target is to increase working life age by 10 years, this can only be realised with a healthy workforce.
The pandemic has demonstrated that changes to working practices are possible – and in many cases, a more flexible approach to working has decreased absenteeism and some people have had more time to be more active. It has also highlighted just how important physical activity and movement is to our performance – time away from the screen leg stretches and regular movement breaks all increase productivity and help stimulate the brain.
