Lincolnshire Hosts This Mum Moves Ambassador Training

Lincolnshire Hosts This Mum Moves Ambassador Training

Active Lincolnshire recently commissioned This Mum Moves Ambassador Training through the Active Mums Lincolnshire programme to support and grow the wider pre and postnatal physical activity workstream. This training was delivered on the 29th March in partnership by the Active Pregnancy Foundation and the Institute of Health Visiting.

Places for this eagerly awaited training were limited and it wasn’t long before the course was fully booked. With great interest and the prospect of being equipped to cascade learning and knowledge afterwards, it was hoped we would attract a combination of healthcare professionals and physical activity sector workforce to the training to ensure the same messaging was being delivered to both sectors.

With 23 candidates completing the training and a 60% representation from health and care services and 40% representation from the sport and physical activity sector, we are happy to say that ambition was met.

Key messages from learners post training:

“The use of language is so important and can be so powerful for us all to share those same messages”
“I feel confident now to signpost people to the right resources”
“Physical activity is so important for woman in all stages of all life. Empower women to not perceive being a mum to be a barrier to taking part in physical activity”

Confidence levels:

  • There was a shift from 30% pre training to 100% post training in confidence levels to start a conversation about physical activity with pregnant women.
  • There was a shift in confidence across all learning outcome statements with higher levels of confidence seen by all learners.

We’re looking forward to working with our new ambassadors in the coming months and excited to see the developments and impact that this work will have on the communities across Lincolnshire.
