Active Mums Lincolnshire programme gets a fresh identity

Active Mums Lincolnshire programme gets a fresh identity

Being active during pregnancy has many physical and mental health benefits, and is generally safe for most women. However misconceptions around what is safe, and lack of awareness around the benefits of being active can leave many expectant mums feeling confused about being physically active.

Our Active Mums Lincolnshire programme aims to break down the barriers to being active that pregnant women and new mums might face. It supports new and expectant mums in Lincolnshire with the guidance, knowledge and support to safely enjoy the benefits of physical activity.

New Active Mums Lincolnshire Branding Launched

We're pleased to launch a fresh new brand identity for Active Mums Lincolnshire.

The new identity was created after consulting with new mums, mums to be and their families to make sure the new branding was relatable and appealing to the target audience. We have worked with colleagues and partners from across the maternity network in Lincoln, including Better Births, the Maternity & Neonatal Transformation Group and Maternity Voices Partnership on the consultation process.

New leaflets 'Active Pregnancy and Beyond' have been produced using the new brand identity. The guides offer simple and clear messages, tips and advice around physical activity and beyond, that give mums to be and new mums the information they need to feel confident to enjoy physical activity.

More information for new mums and mums to be can be found on the Active Mums Lincolnshire page hosted on the Let's Move Lincolnshire digital platform, which has also been updated with the new identity.

We will also be launching a new 'Support an Active Mum' leaflet with the new branding aimed at health professionals working with pre and post-natal women as well as the support network they have around them including family and friends.

Donna Sutton, Health and Wellbeing Lead at Active Lincolnshire commented:

"We're thrilled to introduce the new branding for Active Mums Lincolnshire, which feels fresh, relatable, and perfectly tailored to new and expectant mums. This new identity gives the programme a distinct presence. Over the past few years, we've collaborated closely with Better Births Lincolnshire and the Lincolnshire Maternity & Neonatal teams to integrate physical activity into maternity care, and we're incredibly proud of what we've accomplished together. With our new branded resources, we can now offer even more support to pregnant women across Lincolnshire by providing trusted, consistent information to promote an active pregnancy and beyond."

Active Mums Lincolnshire is part our wider programme of work in the pre and postnatal area. As part of this work we have worked closely with maternity services in Lincolnshire to embed physical activity within the healthcare system, offering guidance and training to both healthcare and fitness professionals so they have the knowledge and skills to support women to be physically active through their pregnancies and beyond.

More information to support Health Professionals working with pre and postnatal women to have the awareness and confidence they need to promote the benefits of physical activity both during and after pregnancy can be found on our Knowledge Hub.

If you would like further information about our work in the pre and postnatal area please get in touch with Donna Sutton.
