Active Lincolnshire is seeking new team members to help increase our impact
Active Lincolnshire are seeking ambitious and passionate individuals who are keen to support us in our vision to make Lincolnshire a place where everyone has the opportunity to be active every day. We currently have three job roles open: Head of Development - Physical Activity Sector; Head of Place; and Business Operations Lead.
These appointments are a key part of an ongoing commitment to improving lives through the positive power of movement. These positions include supporting operational excellence, fostering strategic partnerships and initiatives to expand access to physical activity and leading place-based projects targeting inequalities in specific communities. Together, the roles focus on reducing barriers to participation, tackling health disparities, and enhancing inclusivity through collaboration and innovative strategies.
The new roles will bring additional skills, resources, and experience to our existing team, enabling Active Lincolnshire to deepen its impact and influence, helping us to achieve the shared goals of the county-wide Let's Move Lincolnshire Strategy and deliver against Sport England's 'Uniting the Movement' strategy.
Chief Executive of Active Lincolnshire, Emma Tatlow, shared her excitement about this phase of recruitment:
“These new roles represent a further move forward for Active Lincolnshire to support the delivery of our key strategic goals. They will support our key areas of work and enable us to drive initiatives, work collaboratively with partners, and reduce inactivity across the county. Working together and understanding local need, we can continue to break down barriers to participation in physical activity and improve people’s lives through the positive power of movement.”

Working with Active Lincolnshire
We’re a small charity and operate as a professional organisation. We have big ambitions and our work can take us in many directions. We aim to be focused and be clear about where we can make a difference. Our team environment is friendly, open and supportive. Like most organisations, we are funding a way around a hybrid working approach, but like to ensure we come together each week in person in our Lincoln office. We are continually committed to developing our organisation culture, and that takes commitment from everyone. Each year we undertake a full staff survey, here are some of the headlines from the 2024 survey:
- 91% agreed ‘we have core values that I understand and underpin everything I do’
- 91% agreed ‘my organisation prioritises individual and shared learning’
- 91% agreed ‘my wellbeing matters to my organisation’
- 91% agreed ‘I am happy with the benefits my organisation provides’
We’re also honest about what and where we can improve and are currently looking at volunteering opportunities, more flexible working and our apprach to succession planning and career development. As a small organisation there are not always opportunities to move into more senior roles, however the connections you make through the work with Active Lincolnshire, our ways or working and our understanding of the sector, people and place provide great opportunities for development into other roles which may be with an external / partner organisation.
Inclusive application process
We operate an inclusive, equitable and transparent recruitment and assessment process, underpinned by an organisational commitment to equality and diversity. We actively encourage applications from candidates from diverse backgrounds who can bring an array of skills and experience to our organisation. We’re committed to making sure every applicant is assessed solely on merit and relevant experience to do the job.
As an employer, we actively seek to ensure that our workforce reflects the communities we serve, recognising that this makes us better able to understand their needs and priorities. We can only do this by ensuring that the people who work for us are the best they can be irrespective of age, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, disability, marital status, religion or belief.
We encourage applications from people with disabilities, and guarantee interviews for applicants with disabilities that meet the requirement of the role as part of our commitment to the Disability Confident Scheme.
