We all know 2020 has been a challenging year, and that it has been necessary to adapt or cancel many events and activities in order to protect our health and the health of others.

However, we have some good news!

Below we have listed just some of the magical ways to get active in Lincolnshire this festive season with your family. Spaces on most activities will be limited so book in quickly to avoid disappointment.

Please remember to stay safe, keep your distance, make sure you follow all the relevant guidelines as appropriate and have a wonderful and very Merry Christmas.

Lincoln Santa Fun Run:

This year the 2020 Lincoln Colonia Santa Fun Run is going to be virtual event. There will be 1,000 places available and anyone can register for a place. You will be able to choose your own date in December, the location and route and can even complete the event over multiple days. This event is organised by Visit Lincoln and does have a cost associated with it.

Festive Foundation Challenge:Let's Move_Logo-Walk

Take on the Festive Foundation Challenge and walk a Marathon! Walk 1 mile a day on the lead up to Christmas (starting on the 29th of November) and you will have walked a marathon! Lincoln City Foundation have created this challenge hoping not only to help encourage people to get active over the winter months but also to help anyone suffering from Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). There is downloadable content on their website which includes, a window poster, mile tracker and certificate.

Spalding Nutcracker Trail:

The Spalding Nutcracker Trail will run from 9am on Thursday December 3rd until 5pm on Wednesday December 30th. This trail includes a treasure hunt for 12 Nutcracker Soldiers hidden throughout Spalding Town Centre. There is an online application form and a chance to win a shopping voucher, this prize will be drawn on Thursday December 31st.

Holbeach Elf Trail:

Explore Holbeach Town Centre over the festive period as you hunt for six of Santa’s Elves who are hiding in participating stores. The Elves will be on display from 9am on Thursday 3 December 2020, until 5pm on Wednesday 30 December 2020. There is an online application form and a chance to win a shopping voucher, this prize will be drawn on Thursday December 31st.

Christmas Spirit Trail:santa hat

An interactive “Safari-style” trail is being organised in Lincoln city centre with ten Christmas spirit characters hidden in shop windows to you to find. This adventure will require you to download an app (using your smartphone) to log your discoveries. The trail begins on December 4th and runs until the 4th of January and takes approximately 45 mins to complete. This event is organised by Lincoln BIG alongside High Street Safari and is free to complete.

Belton House After Dark Illuminated Trail:

The after-dark trail has brand new bright lights for 2020. They are monitoring the Covid situation but as it stands, Belton House hopes to open to the public on Friday 4th December. This event is hosted by Belton House, National Trust members park free and there is a cost associated with this event.
