This month we are supporting the Great British Week of Sport, and National Fitness Day!
Taking place between Sat 19 – Sunday 27 September, The Great British Week of Sport is full of ideas and initiatives to get everyone moving, celebrating the positive effects that sport and activity has on our mental, physical and social wellbeing.
Every year Active Lincolnshire promotes National Fitness Day, which falls midway though this inaugural celebration on 23 September. And 2020 is no different, this year we want to help celebrate all the great activity providers, sports clubs and fitness facilitators across the county who are doing such an important job in helping to keep Lincolnshire active.
We’ll be sharing highlights of what is happening in Lincolnshire on our website and social media ahead of and during the week.
We’re also encouraging individuals across Lincolnshire no matter their age, backgrounds and fitness levels to join in and get active on National Fitness day, and throughout the whole of Great British Week of Sport. Why not find a free activity or offer to motivate you? Or get active in the way you like best and share what fitness means to you on social media to inspire others – use the hashtag #Beactive and #LetMoveLincs
We have all been impacted over the past 6 months by the Covid 19 pandemic, however even in the height of lockdown we have been strongly encouraged to be active – in fact it was one of the only reasons we were allowed to leave the house each day. With this is mind let’s not lose sight now of the crucial role being active plays on our overall health as life slowly returns to the new normal.
Let’s Move Lincolnshire during the Great British Week of Sport!
