Nominations are coming in fast for Lincolnshire Sport & Physical Activity Awards 2020! There’s just under two weeks remaining for people to nominate, with nominations closing on the 30 August.

Our annual awards are ordinarily a chance to celebrate Sport and Physical Activity successes across Lincolnshire, recognising excellence in competition, personal achievements and positive life changes. For 2020, in response to the unprecedented impact Covid-19 has had on everyday life, we’ve decided to make the theme of the awards a Community Celebration. The awards will highlight and say thank you to some of the incredible people, groups and organisations who have stepped up and proactively responded to the situation, helping the people of Lincolnshire to keep active and healthy throughout these difficult times.

There are eleven award categories  open for public nomination.

  • Active Community Award
  • Contribution to Sport & Physical Activity Award
  • Volunteer Commitment Award
  • Inspirational Sportsperson Award
  • Workplace Wellbeing Award
  • Fundraising Award
  • Active Change Award
  • Active Club Award
  • Active School Award
  • Social Media Influencer
  • Community Champion Award

Donna Sutton from Active Lincolnshire commented:

“Although lockdown and social distancing meant that sporting and physical activity events, clubs and sessions were unable to take place in the same way this year we know that many individuals and organisations in Lincolnshire have leapt into action to inspire, motivate and encourage people to stay or start being active, whether that was virtually or in a socially distanced context.

Sports Clubs, volunteers and individuals have also been giving up their own time to support the most vulnerable in their local communities, as well as fundraise through physical challenges. We felt it was important to recognise these endeavours and say thank you to the unsung heroes of the sport and physical activity sector who have had such a positive impact on people’s health and wellbeing during this challenging time.”

A virtual awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 12th November 2020.
