Active Skills Hub
Supporting Lincolnshire's sport & physical activity workforce
Guidance and resources from the Active Lincolnshire knowledge hub, helping you with equality and inclusion in sport and physical activity.
Equality and inclusion are about recognising and removing the barriers that deter or prevent people from getting involved in physical activity. That’s why Active Lincolnshire is working to change the culture of sport and physical activity to one that values diversity, creating accessible activity opportunities that meet the needs of disadvantaged groups. And having a wider range of activities isn’t just good for members. With more on offer, clubs can get better exposure, reach more customers and run a more successful facility – with inclusion at its core.
Here you'll find helpful resources, with links to external sites, that offer guidance to incorporating equality and inclusion in the sport and physical activity you offer within your organisation, club, school or community group.
Inclusive language promotes equality, respect and understanding between individuals from diverse backgrounds. It is a way of using language that avoids biases, stereotypes and discrimination, making sure that everyone feels valued and included in all verbal and written communications.
We have created an inclusive language guide, to promote and encourage best practice in this area. The Guide gives suggested terms that it is best practice to use in the first instance. These are groups under the protected characteristics in line with the Equality Act 2010.

Inclusive Health Check
An Inclusive health check provides a school with the opportunity to self-assess themselves and their provision against national criteria.
