Supporting Lincolnshire's sport & physical activity workforce
The Director of Strategy and Place is an exciting new leadership role with Active Lincolnshire, an ambitious charity working to tackle the challenge of physical inactivity and inequalities in access to options to be active. You will be contributing to improving the health outcomes and lives of the people of Lincolnshire.
As an inclusive and collaborative leader, you will be responsible for building and mobilising a movement that delivers the countywide ‘Let’s Move Lincolnshire’ physical activity strategy, designing our place-based approach to working and creating a framework and building our capabilities for a new data, insight, monitoring, evaluation and learning function.
We want to recruit a visionary, agile leader to grow and develop this role as we step into a new phase of our work. You will be focused on collaborating, influencing, and enabling to bring about change. The role will evolve under your leadership as you collaborate with partners, understand need and influence action.
We are clear about the contribution this role will have in our organisation and the impact it can make on our ambitions and place. We’re open minded though about the background and lived experiences someone would bring with them. We’ve identified some pointers to success below but even if you don’t think you quite meet all of the skills listed, we’d still love to hear from you.
To deliver this the role will require excellent leadership and relationship development skills, working with a complex and wide range of partner organisations and stakeholders.
You will be an exceptional communicator, with strong influence and advocacy skills and be able to influence, support and build transformational relationships with people internally and externally. You will have experience of commissioning and using insight, data and research to drive meaningful strategic outcomes. You will think strategically and be able to effect change through understanding need and collaboration including driving forward a shared strategy at a senior level.
Anyone joining the Active Lincolnshire team must demonstrably uphold our values of integrity, collaboration, inclusivity, innovation and learning and our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and tackling inequalities. How we behave and our ways of working are important to success – specifically the post holder will need to be committed to being a team player, having empathy, a growth mindset and understanding other perspectives through a passion for equality, diversity and inclusion.
Deadline for applications is end of Sunday 23 June 2024.
Interviews will be held at the Active Lincolnshire office in Lincoln the week commencing 1st July 2024.
