Our main aim is to increase participation in physical activity across the county to help people lead more healthy lives.
We’re funded by Sport England and work with a variety of partners including National Governing Bodies of Sport, local authorities, schools, Lincolnshire County Council, sports clubs and participants to manage and coordinate programmes and events which encourage people to keep active.
On behalf of Sport England, we aim to:
- Provide for the local needs of our county
- Unlock more support for sport and physical activity
- Work with partners to improve the health of the county
Our Strategy & Vision 2017 – 2021
Our vision is that by 2021 we want to help 20,021 people who are currently inactive to lead a more active life.
This is an ambitious target and we can’t do this on our own. We’re asking partners to pledge their support for Strategy 2021 – whether this is a school, business, college, sports club or an individual – everyone can play their part.
Take a look at how you can pledge your support.
Active Lincolnshire wouldn’t exist without the hard work of the 25-strong employees who work hard behind the scenes to manage projects, organise events and encourage people to participate in sport and physical activity. We are very proud of our team, and hope you get a chance to meet us as we’re out and about in Lincolnshire. Meet the Team.
Other members of the community who pledge their support are our Board members; a selective group of individuals whose experience and enthusiasm for sport and activity make them ideal candidates as Directors for Active Lincolnshire. Meet the Board.
Our Commitment to Equality
Active Lincolnshire is committed to promoting equality, diversity and human rights objectives across all of its structures and programmes, reaching beyond the confines of our legal obligations.
In doing so, we have signed up to achieving Sport England’s Equality Standard: A Framework for Sport, in which we are currently working towards Foundation Level Award. We will be seeking to proceed to higher levels in time and in line with Sport England’s framework.
“Sport Equality is about fairness in sport, equality of access, recognising inequalities and taking steps to address them. It is about changing the culture and structure of sport to ensure that it becomes equally accessible to everyone in society, whatever their ethnic origin, age, gender, impairments, social and economic status or level of ability”.
In the interim, we have now proposed a new Task and Finish Group to be developed. The purpose of this Task and Finish Group is to help us to review and further advance our recent performances and progress on equality, diversity and human rights. We are currently enlisting the help of qualified and relevant individuals / communities to help us drive forward and fulfil our vision for ensuring access to sporting and physical activity opportunities is open to all of our local communities.
