About us

Our mission:

More people, more active, more often

Our Vision:

Lincolnshire is a place where everyone has the opportunity to be physically active every day

We have produced a three year Strategic Plan for Physical Activity (2018-2021) which outlines some of the challenges in creating a more active society and how we need people and organisations to come together to make change happen .

Our role

Active Partnership Logo No Strapline RGB (Digital) Full ColourWe are one of 43 Active Partnerships across England that are working to make physical activity and sport a part of everyone’s life, regardless of age or background. Mainly funded by Sport England, we are helping to deliver their strategy, Towards an Active Nation, across Lincolnshire. This strategy focuses on groups that traditionally are more likely to be inactive, such as women and girls, people living with a disability or health condition or those from less affluent backgrounds.

Our Team

Our team is made up of professionals with backgrounds in sport, physical activity and communications. Meet the Team.

Our Board

Other members of the community who pledge their support are our Board members; a selective group of individuals whose experience and enthusiasm for sport and activity make them ideal candidates as Directors for Active Lincolnshire. Meet the Board.

Sport England’s Code for Sports Governance sets out the levels of transparency, accountability and financial integrity required from those benefitting from Government and National Lottery funding. We follow Sport England’s code for Sports Governance in terms of transparency, accountability and financial integrity that is required from those benefitting from Government and National Lottery funding.

Active Lincolnshire Statement of Intent

Active Lincolnshire is fully committed to embedding equality, diversity and inclusion across our organisation. In our working practices, policies and behaviours, inclusion will be at the centre of all that we do and we will take a zero-tolerance approach to any form of discrimination. We recognise it is our role to advocate these principles in the services we deliver, across the sport and physical activity sector workforce and through our partnerships. Our vision is to remove the inequalities which exist in sport and physical activity through working with our partners to:

  • Remove barriers which prevent or restrict individuals access to physical activity and sport.
  •  Ensure no individual suffers any detriment, direct or indirect discrimination, harassment, victimisation or bullying.
  • Enable everyone to be treated in such a way that the outcome for each person can be the same.

We will treat everyone with respect, integrity and dignity. We will use insight and listen actively to the people we are working to support.

Active Lincolnshire is committed to developing a diverse board of Trustees and team; not limited to age, sex, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation, ability or disability. All of our team will undergo equality, diversity and inclusivity training and development and we will advocate that our partners do the same. We will seek to provide representation through recruiting and engaging with people with the protected characteristics, or with relevant lived experience.

We strive for continuous improvement in our approach to equality, and recognise that we will always need to build on our education, awareness and commitment to ensuring our organisation and the services we provide are available and accessible to everyone without discrimination of any form.

We will ensure that businesses, organisation and partners in our wider supply chain are compliant and will not work with suppliers or provide grants to any organisation that is not. We will terminate any contracts, partnerships or grant funding with organisations, charities and partners who show any form of discrimination in their practice.

We recognise our legal obligations and abide by the regulations of the Equality Act 2010.

Active Lincolnshire’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy

The policy has been created with an aim to improve equality of access to sport and physical activity and the promotion of equal opportunities for all.

Equality Legislation

All Organisations are legally obliged to ensure that they do not discriminate against participants, employees, and volunteers on grounds of disability, gender, and race.

Our Commitment to Diversity on the Active Lincolnshire Board:

We actively pursue diversity but not for the sake of it or to achieve a ‘tick-box’ result; we do it because diversity brings new thinking and challenge to old ideas. Not only do we want our board and staff to reflect the population they serve we want them to ensure we consider and cater for all aspects of Lincolnshire society when we make decisions about where we use our resources. We are committed to having no less than 1/3rd of our board from either gender, we welcome and encourage applications from all members of society without prejudice to age, sexual orientation, disability, gender, religion or race. We will ensure any board vacancies receive the widest possible coverage to guarantee that opportunities are seen and available to all.
