Rosie Marshall

14 year old Rosie Marshall is an athlete from Alford.

Most memorable achievement:

My latest proudest moment is my new 800m personal best, but I was also proud of myself for competing for Lincolnshire at the age of 10.

October Blog:

In the last 3 months (which will be the ending of my outdoor season) I have completed in the Loughborough Charnwood Graded Open and came 1st in my heat.

I also competed in the Northerns at Hull, the Nationals in Bedford and as part of my club the McCain Young Athletes’ League Midland Final in Stoke.

Well its back to training after a short break. It will be intense hard training through the winter ready to start the indoor season in January. Finishing with the Nationals indoors.

This was my first year on the LEAP programme, and although I only attended one course it was really useful to me. The self-talk helped so much, gave an insight into the right mind set before a race.

9th June 2012. City of York Summer league, York. 1st place time 2:29.21

August Blog:

Well I’ve had a very busy past few months.  Lots of training and competitions to prepare me for the nationals in August.

I came 1st in Lincolnshire Schools Championships, and then represented Lincolnshire in Anglian Schools and came 3rd. And got a new outdoor PB.

I came 1st in 800m in the Grimsby Open and 1st in 800m again in The Summer League in Hull.

I am competing on 14th July @ Hull in the North of England Championship in the 800m.   This competition is in preparation for the Nationals in August.

I hope to get a new PB!

Since I joined LEAP I have attended a course on self-talk.

I found this very beneficial as at times I lack confidence. I also met other members of LEAP and found it fun to be with other athletes similar to me.

March Blog:

Hi I ran at the Birmingham Games on 5th February in U15G 800m . The competition was tough; but I came 2nd and got a new PB!! I currently rank number 11 in UK for 800m indoors. This qualified me to do the Nationals on 25/26 Feb … so wish me luck. Thanks Rosie
