Most memorable achievement:

My proudest moment was when I achieved my first national time in 2006. I have also got on to the Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence programme.

August Blog:

Within the past 3 months I haven’t competed as well I would have liked to. I missed my 400free national time by milliseconds several times, this was very disappointing. At the Midland Youth Championships I won the 400free and came 3rd the 200free. I was happy with the placing’s but my times weren’t great.

I have the National Youth Championships on the 19th and 20th of July, I am competing in the 800freestyle and part of the 4×200 freestyle relay team. Prior to the Nationals I will continue to train hard.

March Blog:

In the last three months please list details from your last competition outlining achievements, results.

At the end of February and throughout March I competed in the county championships. In this I competed in the 50, 100, 200, 400 and 800free and 100fly. I won the 100, 200, 400 and 800free, 2nd in the 100fly and 4th in the 50free. The championships went well. I achieved personal bests in everything but the 200 and 800free. I wanted to go faster on the 50 and 100free but they are hard events for me as I’m more of a distance swimmer than a sprinter. On the 6/7and 8th of April I competed at the Norwich open meet. This weekend didn’t go as planned but I have to take the negatives with the positives. I had one good swim which was the 200free I was on my pb which I haven’t hit in a long time. I achieved 1st in the 400free but I didn’t go the time I had hoped for. This weekend was a learning curve and I now know I’m capable of achieving a lot faster times.

Please list any upcoming competitions including location, aspirations for the competition and training involved prior to the competition.

The following competitions I have coming up are;

Saturday 28th April at Loughborough, competing in the 800free.
Midland Youth Championships- 5th and 6th May

I will compete in the following events;

5th – 100fly and 200free
6th – 400free

I hope to swim well in these events to better my times. I shall continue to train hard, hoping the hard work will pay off when it comes to racing.
