26 year old swimmer Kate Haywood represented Great Britain at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Most memorable achievement (at the beginning of 2012):
I was 15 and the youngest swimmer on the 2002 Commonwealth Games team in Manchester. It was an amazing experience and I came away with a Bronze in the 4x100m medley relay team.
I have been training hard over the last 3 months in the lead up to the Olympics. I have had my head down working on everything possible to enable me to swim my best at the games. I have been concentrating on my starts and turns as this is an area I felt I could improve on, I have noticed that I have improved a great deal and hope to take advantage of that I the games. I am now back in the UK for the games in the village and excited to swim on Sunday.
I am racing in the Games on Sunday in the 100m Breaststroke. My aim is to swim a best time and progress through the heats and semi final and with a lane in the final I will be trying my best come away with a medal. I will then race the Medley Relay in the final night of the competition, we came 4th in Beijing so will hope to improve on that.
