James Hurley

13 year old James Hurley is a swimmer from Old Leake near Boston.

Most memorable achievement:

Being presented with the Bronze medal for the 100 Fly at regional level at the British Gas Championships by the Chairman of the ASA.

In the last three months please list details from your last competition outlining achievements, results etc.

7th and 8th January I competed in Boston open meet, achieving overall top boy across all age groups, winning 8 gold, 6 silver, and 2 bronze medals. I also achievedMidland regional qualifying times in 400, 200m freestyle and 200m backstroke.

18th Feb competed in County Champs 1500m long distance event. Not at my best but produced a PB and achieved Bronze just missing my Midland qualifying time, but I will get another chance in April. 3rd & 4th March county champs off to a good start achieving regional qualifying in 100m Butterfly. 17th March got my 200m butterfly regional qualifying time and 100m backstroke. Overall achieving 1 Gold , 9 silver, 2 bronze so a good haul of medals and was second overall in age group.

April 28th Loughborough distance time trials 1500m, may 11 – 13th West Suffolk open meet at Bury St Edmunds,. Training hard at the moment getting up twice a week at 4.30a.m for 2 hour  morning training sessions, going to school and then back to training in the evening to achieve 9 hours a week. 24th March went to Loughborough Olympic 50m pool for a 2 hour training session

11th March Boston Target and Standard printed a report on my performance at he County Championships. 18th MarchBoston Target and Standard printed a report with a photo saying I was part of the LEAP program
