Hi Guys! So far the season has gone much better than expected! Despite it being my first year as an ‘U20’ as a result of a good winter training programme and staying injury-free I’ve adapted very well to the new hurdle height/distance qualifying for English schools with a time of 15.1. I have regularly competed throughout the summer winning the county schools and clubs title whilst also gaining a new long jump personal best of 6.62m. So far so good but a lot more to come!
Although my season has really only just started, it’s going well so far! Despite this being my first year as an ‘Under 20’ a more intense winter has resulted in very good results so far this summer! Consequently I have experienced good results in both hurdles and long jump: my season opener in the 110m hurdles at a Lincs League was 15.4 (which is only 0.2 off the English Schools entry standard) and very recently I have achieved a new long jump PB of 6.62m (18cm off the English Schools entry standard). These new recordings have put me within the top 25 in the country for both events (at this moment in time). I am very happy with the way the season is going and am looking forward to competing more.
Other than the ESAA championships, the only major competition after that would be the Northern Champs which I hope to medal in having won it last year. I do intend to enter so more open events later on in the season as I am keen to break the 15 second barrier and I’d really like to get a 6.80m jump in for Longjump.
