August Blog:

In the last three months I have had a few competitions. I have done two marathons and three spring regattas.

In the first marathon I came second and got promoted to division 5. The next one I came 5th out of 15 with all of the other competitors being older than me and most of them were seniors.

I have also done three sprint regattas 500m and 1000m races in the first regatta I came first in both races and got promoted to girls C.

The next regatta I came second in the 1000m and third in the 500m. Finally in the last one I came third in both races and just missed out on being promoted to girls B.

This is my aim for the July regatta.

Over the next three months I have 3 competitions coming up, including the spring regatta, the national marathon championships and the national sprint champions. There are also two marathons to do in between these!

I have had a chance to put my name forward for a regatta in Sebeka in September but I have had to wait to see if I will be selected as I am still a little young.

Most of my sprint racing is done at Nottingham water sports centre and I have had good results. I have two firsts, one second and three thirds. Marathon races have been in different locations across the Midlands within having a second and fifth position.

March Blog:

It seems a long time since my last race in October at Lincoln where I came 3rd . I got promoted after the race and now I am in derision 6 which means I now have to do 8 miles and a portage ( paddle 4 miles get out of you boat pick it up an run 100 ish yards with it then get back in the water and paddle another 4 miles) . At the moment the thought of it is a little scary but I know I will be ale to do it. We have been doing land training through the winter and paddling just at weekends as to dark to go on the water in the evenings , mum and dad have made a gym for me at the bottom of the garden with an indoor paddle machine so I have been going down there a lot . Race season starts in April so I hope all the training has paid off for then
