October Blog:

My achievements this year on the track has been very promising and I have achieved new PB times in the 800m and 1500m. I also achieved the English schools qualifying time for the 3000m allowing me to run at Gateshead in the Schools Competition. I have gained the title of County Champion at 800m and 1500m. I also won the Anglian schools 1500m championship. In July I was invited with 10 of the top athletes in my age group to run in the prestigious Frank Horwill Mile at Oxford. After a busy track season I then competed in the Northern Road relays at Leigh, we competed really well and I am happy to say we are now the U17 Northern Relay Champions. My latest event took place on Saturday the 6th Oct at Graves Park and our team of three competed in the U17 Northern Cross Country Relays and after a hard battle the team came second.

My cross country season is just starting and I have some important races

Ahead of me in November. I have the National cross Country relays in Mansfield then I am competing in the McCain Cross Challenge in Liverpool.

December lots of training then in January the Lincolnshire schools XC champs then the Anglian and on to the English Schools where my aim is to come in the top 8 and be selected for England to race in the home countries school cross country.

August Blog:

The last three months have been very busy for me. I have competed in a number of track events culminating in an invitation to attend the English Schools Athletics championships at Gateshead. I gained the ESAA qualifying standards in both the 1500m and 3000m and actually achieved the national standard for the 3000m. After a hard fought race with a strong field I came in 4th missing out on the bronze medal by a tenth of a second. I have improved on my PB’s in the 800m, 1500m and 3000m. The latter being a time of 9m59s which currently ranks me at number 7 in the country. I came first in the Anglian schools champs where I competed in the 1500m

The Track season is drawing to an end for me; however I hope to compete in the Trafford open at Stretford in a couple of weeks time with the aim of improving one my PB’s. I will then move on to road relay events and cross country. This is where my training will once again change, it will move from shorter high quality reps to longer efforts (often hilly).

March Blog:

In the last three months please list details from your last competition outlining achievements, results etc.

During the last three months I have competed in a number of races. I believe my best achievement came in the national cross country champs at parliament hill in London on the 25th Feb 2012 where I came in 6th.

I next competed in the trials for the East Midlands team for the virgin mini marathon at Nottingham pier point centre on the 4th March 2012.  A top 6 finish would guarantee a place in the team to compete in London. After a hard fought race I was pleased to come in first.

My most recent achievement came in the inter-counties cross country champs at Crofton Park Birmingham. Having been selected to run as part of the Lincolnshire team I was delighted to finish 11th my best position to date in this event. (I even made a few appearances on TV).

Please list any upcoming competitions including location, aspirations for the competition and training involved prior to the competition.

My next race will be the English schools xc in Taunton on 17th March as I am one of the lower age group for this race I hope to be placed in the top twenty. My training for this will consist of four road runs and two interval sessions a week to keep my endurance and level of fitness

I have also entered the Lincoln 10K for the first time this year.

The final race I have before the track season starts is the London Virgin Mini Marathon on 22/4/12
