inspire+ recently impressed Ofsted inspectors during its partner, New College Stamford’s 4-day pilot inspection based upon the new Ofsted Education Inspection Framework. The exemplary feedback delighted New College Stamford, confirming the outstanding leadership and management of the inspire+ team.
For 8 years, the Sport and Education charity has worked with hundreds of schools across Lincolnshire and neighbouring counties, becoming a registered training provider in 2017 and forging the way for an exceptional apprenticeship programme. The course has now seen over 100 learners supporting schools throughout the East of England to increase physical activity and engagement in PE and School Sport, with a further 120+ expected for 2019/20.
Combining a unique delivery of theory and practical based tuition, inspire+ was described by inspectors as providing a ‘niche provision’, offering learners the best possible introduction to teaching and supporting PE and Sport in school.
In the upcoming months, inspire+ will once again be working in partnership with New College Stamford to recruit the next cohort of talented apprentices.
The programme will span across 12 months (Sept 2019 – Aug 2020) with learners spending 4 days supporting PE and Sport in schools, and 1 day at a localised training venue with inspire+ undertaking a NVQ Level 3 Advanced Diploma and additional sport related training ensuring apprentices potential is realised, enabling them to become effective and efficient members of staff.
PE apprentices will support schools in a variety of ways including supporting PE lessons, sports clubs, organising structured play at lunchtimes, assisting at sports competitions, ensuring that all pupils are happy, healthy and active.
Charity CEO and Founder, Vincent Brittain says he is “immensely proud of the way the programme has impacted schools and learners”, declaring that applications for September are now open! “We are looking for PE and School Sport apprentices to join our next cohort in September 2019. This is a seriously interesting role that can lead to permanent jobs in schools. It can also be used as a fantastic gap year opportunity and a springboard to university. We want to speak with candidates who offer a keen interest in sport and are passionate about working with young people”.
