Active Lincolnshire has agreed with its major funder, Sport England, for a revised arrangement for the role of the Active Lincolnshire CEO until the 31st March 2019.
The decision by Lisa Harrison, the previous CEO, to leave the organisation for a new job opportunity, saw the Active Lincolnshire board review what options it may wish to pursue in a new CEO role.
The immediate task was to provide continuous leadership and management at the CEO level and with the agreement of Sport England and Active Humber it was agreed that the Active Humber CEO, David Gent, would act as a part-time interim Active Lincolnshire CEO up to the 31st December 2018.
After further discussions between Sport England, Active Humber and Active Lincolnshire the arrangement will now be extended to the 31st March 2019.
This will allow the Active Lincolnshire board to ensure it reaches all of its agreed 2018/19 targets with Sport England and with other partners, which it is confident it will do. As well as help in the process to appoint a new Chair, extra board members and a new CEO. Also over this period, the board will have the key task of ensuring that Active Lincolnshire plays its full part in successfully establishing the recently formed Lincolnshire Physical Activity taskforce.
The Active Lincolnshire board are taking the recruitment of the new CEO role seriously and to ensure we are in the best possible position of the right candidate, David will be working with the board and the senior team to ensure Active Lincolnshire continues to strive for the best for Lincolnshire.
