After two and a half years at the helm, Dan Ellmore stepped down as the Chair of Active Lincolnshire at the 2018danellmore AGM (Thursday 18 October).

Dan has successfully overseen the organisation through a busy period of change. There has been a new remit from Sport England to focus on those who are most inactive as well as work at a lot more local level. Alongside this Sport England has been running a national programme for all Governing Bodies of Sport, National Sport agencies and County Sports Partnerships to be up to date with all the latest governance and financial requirements.

Dan commented: “I have enjoyed my time as both a board member and a Chair of Active Lincolnshire and believe with the emergence of the Lincolnshire Physical Activity Taskforce and the new agenda from Sport England, the future looks very bright for getting more people physically active across Lincolnshire. I am grateful for all the support from the board and staff during this transformation.”

Dennis Bell, the new interim Chair who took over at the AGM commented: “The Board wants to thank Dan for all of his considerable efforts on behalf of Active Lincolnshire. He has always approached the task in hand with enthusiasm and a desire to get the best for Lincolnshire. We wish Dan all the best into the future.”

The Board will be looking to appoint a new Chair in the early part of 2019 in line with the national Code of Sports Governance.
