National Fitness Day is on Wednesday the 26th of September.
On this day leisure providers throughout Lincolnshire are coming together to promote increased physical activity for everybody.
National Fitness day is an opportunity for the people of Lincoln to come together, leisure providers to open their doors and for us all to be proactive about our shared message- better health and quality of life through positive lifestyle choices like increasing daily activity.
And we believe the best way to start is by walking.
Using the GoExplore Lincolnshire app we are creating a large scale walking quiz.
The quiz begins at your closest participating leisure provider- each location on the quiz will provide a multiple choice question to answer before travelling to the next point of interest.
The quiz will be available to view on the app as of the 24th of September, so you can see the distance you will complete, however the miles walked will not be tracked until the big day (26th of September).
All miles walked on any activity on the GoExplore Lincolnshire app (including the other walks throughout Lincolnshire and the family friendly, shorter, quizzes at Boultham, Hartsholme and Whitton Park as well as Millennium Green and Arboretum) will be recorded through the app on the day and given to the ‘Walk a Million’ challenge to help count toward the last 200,000 miles needed.
Participating leisure providers so far are:
Active Nation (Birchwood and Yarborough)
Bishop Grosseteste University Sport & Fitness
Fit 4 Less
Sports Direct Fitness
University of Lincoln Sports Centre
Better gym Sleaford
We can’t wait to see the result of the challenge, we believe together Lincoln can finish this challenge and walk a million miles!
If you are a leisure provider in the City of Lincoln and would like to take part please contact us @ firstname.lastname@example.org
