Get Out Get Active Couch 2 5k

The April Couch 2 5k has been a great success, with 66 new participants braving the elements and taking part in the programme.

Couch 2 5K is a ten week programme for novices and those that want to get back in to running. Participants are guided and motivated to start off slowly and then develop and grow in confidence and fitness throughout the ten weeks with homework given to complete runs. The goal of the programme is for each participant to take part in a timed 5km run at the end of the 10 weeks.

This block has seen 66 people take part, and will hopefully have them all doing their 10km in the first week of May when they will receive their Get Out Get Active, Couch to 5k (smash it!) running vest.

Active Lincolnshire proudly promotes and supports Couch 2 5km, which is delivered by Skegness and District Running Club in Horncastle, Skegness & Spilsby and funded by GOGA (get out, get active) and Spirit of 2012, by providing leader funding and incentives.

Here are a few examples of the amazing members who took part:

The run leaders worked incredibly hard and we want to thank them for the time and effort they put in, as do their runners:
