Shoppers in Lincoln can enjoy new secure bicycle storage facilities at St Marks from tomorrow.
As an improved measure for cyclists within the city centre of Lincoln, St Marks have installed free, safe and secure bike racks for the general public to use in the undercover lower deck car park which hold more than 100 bikes.
To mark the launch Access Lincoln, Lincoln Security and Doctor Bike will be at the centre tomorrow to offer services to shoppers as well as trial spin classes offered by retailer Pure Gym.
Dan Ellmore, Chair of Active Lincolnshire and the organiser of the Lincoln Grand Prix is performing the opening: “I am delighted to see such a commitment to cycling. More people will feel confident to come into the city by bike and we all need to work with St Marks and Access Lincoln to make sure we promote it to shoppers and commuters. Active Lincolnshire is an organisation that is aiming to get more people more active and cycling plays a huge role in this goal.”
Valerie Johnson, Centre Manager at St Marks said: “Cyclists can often be forgotten when it comes to safe parking, which is why we wanted to provide a free, accessible to all rack, that will be suitable for up to one hundred bikes.
“We’ve had great feedback so far from our retailers who bike to work regularly, and we’re sure our shoppers will be equally pleased. We’re really looking forward to the launch and we have a lot planned for the shoppers over the weekend which is great.”
