Evans Halshaw Ford Lincoln Take the Victory at Workplace Rounders

Businesses and organisations from across Lincolnshire came together on Monday evening to take part in a county-wide rounders tournament. The tournament was originally planned for the 28th of June but due to rain it had to be postponed till the 12th September.

Teams from St Barnabas Hospice, Lincolnshire County Council, and Siemens, were just some of the 14 teams that joined in the fun on Monday evening.

The event kicked off around 6pm, the teams were split into three groups with the top team from each group advancing to the play-offs.

There was definitely a competitive atmosphere growing with every team fighting for a win and a place in the final at Lincoln Christ’s Hospital School.

At around 7.30pm, the group stages had come to an end. Unfortunately, due to loss of light we made the decision not to play the finals. With no final we decided the winner by working out who had scored most rounders out of the teams that won their groups.

This left us with a top 3 of:

  1. Evans Halshaw Ford Lincoln with a total of 25 rounders
  2. Russel Payne Chartered Accountants with a total of 16 rounders
  3. Siemens with a total of 15 rounders

The Final standings broken down in to the three groups were:

Group one

  1. Siemens – 15specialist-surface-solutions-ltd
  2. Essential Fleet Services – 14
  3. LLC Finance – 12
  4. Toyota and Lexus – 10 ½

Group Two

  1. Russel Payne CA – 16
  2. East Lindsay District Council – 15
  3. Specialist Surface Solutions ltd. – 11 ½
  4. John Greed – 9 ½
  5. St Barnabas Cardinal Team – 8

Group 3

  1. Evans Halshaw Ford Lincoln – 25
  2. Lincolnshire FA – 19 ½essential-fleet
  3. St Hugh’s Primary School – 16 ½
  4. St Barnabas Hospice – 4
  5. NHS Lincolnshire West – 3 ½

Next year we will run the event earlier on in the year as originally planned so we have more time to play the finals, this would have given a clearer leader board! If you want to look at it overall based on rounders alone then Evans Halshaw would still win however, it does alter some of the other results:

  1. Evans Halshaw Ford Lincoln – 25
  2. Lincolnshire FA – 19 ½
  3. St Hugh’s Primary School – 16 ½
  4. Russel Payne CA – 16winners-evans-halshaw-ford-lincoln
  5. East Lindsay District Council – 15 AND Siemens – 15
  6. Essential Fleet Services – 14
  7. LLC Finance – 12
  8. Specialist Surface Solutions ltd. – 11 ½
  9. Toyota and Lexus – 10 ½
  10. John Greed – 9 ½
  11. St Barnabas Cardinal Team – 8
  12. St Barnabas Hospice – 4
  13. NHS Lincolnshire West – 3 ½
