Four women from Lincolnshire and Newark make up a quarter of the Team GB hockey team heading to the Rio Olympics next week.
Combined, the four women have played hockey for Great Britain nearly 250 times and have scored nearly 50 times.
Georgie Twigg, 25, from Lincoln, Hannah Macleod, 32, from Boston, and Crista Cullen, 30, who was born in Lincolnshire, were all in the team who won bronze at London 2012.
Shona McCallin, 24, from Newark (who was also recognised by the Lincolnshire Elite Athlete Programme – LEAP – in 2011) makes her debut in the Olympic squad.
They have also medalled in a number of prestigious competitions including the Commonwealth Games, the Hockey World Cup, and the Hockey Champions Trophy competition.
For more information about the quartet and to see the full women’s and men’s hockey squad list, head to the Team GB website.
