Applications are now open for The Skipton Building Society’s Grassroots Giving Fund 2016.

The Skipton Building Society have over £80,000 worth of donations to award to grassroots organisations.

The Grassroots Giving Fund was set up to give ideas and activities with a lasting impact the greatest chance to progress and to make a difference in their communities.

The Grassroots Giving Fund is being split into 163 donations of £500 to help fund development for grassroots organisations in local communities.

Organisations, groups and clubs need to be able to show a real commitment to their local community to be in with a chance of winning. The Skipton Building Society are looking for volunteer-orientated groups who are enhancing the lives of their neighbourhoods.

Grassroots Giving seeks to help community organisations or groups who have a limited access to funding from elsewhere and who rely on the good will and generosity of their members. For this reason, registered charities will not be able to request funding via Grassroots Giving. However, The Skipton Building Society Charitable Foundation has been set up as bespoke funding stream for charities. Read more on its website.

To apply for funding through the Grassroots Giving campaign, fill in the application form.

Applications close on Friday 29 July 2016 and The Skipton Building Society will announce a shortlist of organisations in the running for funding shortly after.

The shortlisted organisations will be given a profile of the Skipton Building Society website in August. From September the public will be able to vote online for their favourite or most valued grassroots club.

The Grassroots Giving campaign 2016 winners will be announced in November.
