Sports clubs, leisure centres and sports organisations have just two weeks left to apply for funding to deliver sports sessions across the county.
The first round of Sportivate funding for this year closes on Friday 29 January, and Active Lincolnshire is looking for applications from groups wanting to target women and girls, aged 11 – 25 years.
Lucy Blakey, Children and Young People Officer at Active Lincolnshire, said:
“Funding is available for sports projects in Lincolnshire to encourage women and girls to take part in more sport. It is a great opportunity to encourage young people to get involved but also provides a huge financial incentive for sports clubs, schools, leisure facilities and others, to deliver more activities across Lincolnshire.”
Over 600 projects have received funding through Sportivate since July 2011, with sessions including golf, badminton, kayaking, wheelchair basketball, target shooting and more.
Sports clubs, schools, community groups, NGBs, local authorities, universities, youth clubs, colleges, leisure facilities and workplaces targeting 11 – 25 year olds can all apply for funding to deliver between 6 and 12 weeks of sports sessions.
The deadline to apply for the next round of funding – which is targeted at projects wanting to run women and girls sports sessions between April to June this year – is Friday 29 January 2016.
