DSC_0043Gear up for the Lincolnshire Chamber’s Annual Charity Banquet, which will celebrate all things cycling in the lead up to The  British Cycling National Road Championships in June.

The banquet is one of the leading social events on the county’s business calendar, and will take place at The Doubletree by Hilton, in Lincoln, on Friday 22 May 2015.

Special guest this year is four time Olympic cyclist and medallist, Bryan Steel. From scrawny schoolboy to World Class athlete, Bryan will be sharing the secrets of his success – the formula for which being as applicable to the board room and business environment as it is to the playing field.

Simon Beardsley, Chief Executive at the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “Our Annual Charity Banquet is an opportunity for Lincolnshire’s business community to come together and enjoy a night of good company and great entertainment. And I’m delighted that Bryan Steel will be joining us.

“The banquet will celebrate all things cycling across the county. Sports events such as The British Cycling National Road Championships will not only raise the county’s profile, but will also offer the chance to show the rest of the county what a wonderful place Lincolnshire is.

I am looking forward to joining Lincolnshire Chamber members, and fellow businesses, in celebrating and recognising Lincolnshire at our annual banquet.”

This year’s banquet will raise funds for Active Lincolnshire.  Marc Rhodes, Marketing and Events Officer at Active Lincolnshire said:

“Events like the upcoming annual banquet are not only a great way to raise funds to support us in developing sport and physical activity across the whole county but also an opportunity for us to engage with new businesses and share our message.”

“Active Lincolnshire provides many opportunities for businesses and their employees to become more active and try new sports through programmes such as Workplace Challenge. We’re really looking forward to working with the Chamber on the banquet and a number of events over the coming year, and hope together we can inspire more businesses to be more active more often.”

Chamber Members, Access Lincoln, who promote sustainable transport for businesses across Lincoln and Hykeham will also be attending the Banquet. Senior Project Officer Paula Colburn said:

“The Chamber Banquet provides the perfect opportunity for businesses in Lincoln to network in a relaxed setting. With the focus of the event on cycling, it will be a great opportunity to learn more about The British Cycling National Road Championships 2015 – of which Access Lincoln is a key sponsor.”
