coaching photoCoaches across Lincolnshire have the opportunity to apply for a coaching bursary of up to £150, which can fund up to half of a National Governing Body coaching course.

The coaching bursary, which is funded by Active Lincolnshire and Sport England, is open to all members of the Lincolnshire Coach and Instructor Network from June 2, 2014. Coaches who are interested in the funding and who aren’t currently signed up to the Network can register by visiting www.lincolnshiresport.com

To be successful, coaches need to be a member of the Coaches and Instructor Network and working with athletes/performers over the age of 14.

Tom Armstrong, Workforce Development Manager, said: ‘This coaching bursary enables coaches in Lincolnshire to gain a qualification to help them in their coaching journey. It is a great opportunity to reward and recognise our coaches, who work hard to create more active lifestyles.’

Coaches can apply for up to 50% of the National Governing Body Coach Education course costs, with a maximum of £50 for Level 1, £100 for Level 2, and £150 for Level 3 upwards.

Coaches can also apply for the full course costs of attending generic coach education courses. Individual coaches need to apply for themselves; applications on behalf of coaches from a club will not be accepted. Deadline for applications is August 1, 2014.
