Judo has arrived in your area (but no kicking and punching allowed!)

New weekly judo sessions for children are to be held in Bourne and Stamford.

Vale Judo Club, one of the biggest judo clubs in the East Midlands, will be delivering the new judo classes for 7-16 year olds, starting in June.

Bourne Vale Judo Club, based at Bourne Youth Centre, will open on Tuesday, June 5 and hold weekly Tuesday sessions for 7-10 year old's from 4pm and 11- 16 year old's from 5pm.

The Stamford club, based at Stamford Endowed Sports Centre, will open on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 and will hold weekly Wednesday sessions for 7-10 year old's from 5.30pm and 11- 16 year old's from 6.30pm.

Vale Judo School Coach, Joe Munford, said: “Judo is a great way to improve a child’s confidence and not only is it great to help them gain an interest in sport, it also helps with other aspects of their lives such as school work.”

“Judo is one of the world’s most widely practiced Olympic and Paralympic sports and showcases breath-taking throws and ground work techniques –but there’s no kicking or punching allowed!.”

Vale Judo will also be running holiday judo courses suited for novices and graded players for 7-16 year old's on May 30, 2013. The two hour courses cost £7.50 each.
