Businesses in the LN6 area of Lincoln could be eligible for a £5,000 grant to encourage their employees to travel in a more environmentally friendly way.

The Sustainable Travel Grant provides local businesses with funding so they can remove any barriers that prevent their staff from using greener forms of transport. The grant can be used to purchase cycle parking, lockers, showers, changing facilities, signage, pool bikes, electric charging points, teleconferencing equipment and more.

The grant is delivered as part of the Access LN6 programme, which aims to improve sustainable travel options in the LN6 area of Lincoln and Hykeham.

Chantelle Grundy, Access LN6 Project Manager, said:

“Our Sustainable Travel Grant aims to reduce the costs associated with business travel and lost productivity due to traffic congestion. We’re confident that travelling sustainably not only supports businesses in meeting their environmental and corporate social responsibility goals, but also benefits staff who are happier, healthier and more productive as a result.”

Application forms for the Sustainable Travel Grant will be available from Monday 20 May, 9.00am at www.accessln6.co.uk. The deadline for Round 1 is Friday 28 June 2013.
