The Sainsbury’s School Games is a county festival of sport which will see approximately 1,000 athletes from 80 schools compete in 14 different sporting competitions in order to be crowned county champions.

Gareth Short, School Games Project Officer at the Active Lincolnshires Partnership, said: “It is fantastic news that St George’s Academy has had the opportunity to compete on a national stage. This has been a great experience for all the students involved and one which I’m sure they will not forget. I look forward to seeing them bring what they have learnt to the Sainsbury’s School Games in July. This will surely add to the standard of Boccia in the county which continues to develop year on year.”

Lee Croker, Deputy Captain of the Boccia team, said: “The National Boccia Finals in Sheffield were a brilliant day. I’ve learnt so much about the game and we are going to put this into our training at school and hopefully win the Sainsbury’s School Games county final in July.”
