Volunteers rewarded for their hard work with monthly prize draw

Volunteers registered on the Sport Makers programme are being encouraged to record their voluntary hours to be entered into a prize draw.

A monthly prize draw of £50 will run from November 2012 to September 2013 for all Sport Makers who log 10 voluntary hours on their online account.

Individuals registered on the programme are encouraged to attend a Sport Makers workshop before making sport happen for the local community. This could be through volunteering at a local sports club, helping at an event as a marshal or timekeeper, or simply encouraging friends and family to play more sport.

Lizzie Borrill, Workforce Development Manager at Active Lincolnshires Partnership, said:

“There are more than 1,000 people registered on the Sport Makers programme and we are sure they’re all out there volunteering their time and supporting sport locally.

“What we really want to know is what people are doing as Sport Makers and we want them to log their 10 hours of volunteering. The prize draw is an incentive to encourage more people to log their hours and to reward them for all of their hard work; somebody will win £50 each month until September 2013!”

Sport Makers already signed up to the programme can log their hours online. The deadline for November’s prize draw is 12.00noon on Friday 30th November 2012.

For anyone interested in becoming a Sport Maker, a workshop will take place on Wednesday 5th December 2012 in Woodhall Spa with double Olympic cycling medallist Bryan Steel. Sport Makers at this workshop can then be entered into the December prize draw to win £50. Find out more information about the workshop here.
