Bike4life GroupFamilies can hire bikes over the August Bank Holiday from as little as £22.00 per family.

Bike hire is available at four venues across Lincolnshire with safe cycle routes nearby and equipment available to hire. Families can bring their own bikes or hire them from the Bike 4 Life venues in Bourne, Lincoln, Bardney and Louth.

Whether you visit Grimsthorpe Castle near Bourne, cycle from Bardney Heritage Centre along the Water Railway, see the historic Cathedral Quarter in Lincoln or enjoy a family bike ride through the Wolds in Louth, the Bike 4 Life sites are suitable for families of all ages and abilities.

Sarah Clarke, Physical Activity Manager at Active Lincolnshires Partnership, said:

“Cycling is a fun family activity, especially during the School Holidays when parents are looking for things to do. Our four Bike 4 Life centres offer really competitive prices and we encourage you to bring a picnic and make a day out at any one of our venues. Bike rides are great for keeping active and something the whole family can enjoy.”

Bike 4 Life was set up in 2011 with a £65,000 investment from Active Lincolnshires Partnership and Short Breaks at Lincolnshire County Council, to encourage more families to cycle.

The funding has allowed the four sites to purchase a number of bikes including inclusive bikes such as wheelchair bikes, semi-recumbent hand cycles, tricycles and more, encouraging children and adults with a disability to participate also.

Prices range from £8 – £10 for adults and £3 – £6 for children.
