SportivateSports clubs, leisure centres and sports organisations have one month until the next deadline for Sportivate funding in Lincolnshire.

Over 140 projects have received over £80,000 funding since July 2011 allowing clubs and organisations to offer sports sessions for children and young people across the county.

Lucy Blakey, Children and Young People’s Officer at Active Lincolnshires Partnership, said: “Nearly £400,000 is available for sports projects in Lincolnshire to encourage semi-sporty” teenagers and young adults to take part in sport over the next four years. It is a great opportunity to encourage young people to get involved in sport but also provides a huge financial incentive for sports clubs, schools, leisure facilities and others, to deliver more sport across Lincolnshire.

Sports clubs, schools, community groups, NGBs, local authorities, universities, youth clubs, colleges, leisure facilities and workplaces targeting 14 – 25 year olds can all apply for funding. Projects are asked to base their applications on £40 per head for six to eight weeks of sport sessions.

The deadline to apply for the next round of funding for projects from October to December 2012 or January to March 2013 is Friday 31st August 2012. In particular, people are being encouraged to apply if their project focuses on target minority groups, such as women, girls or disability sport.

The application form for funding can be found online at or to request a copy call Lucy on 01522 585 580.
