Lincoln to Skegness (and back!) cycle ride 2012

Pedal power will be needed for the second annual Lincoln to Skegness (and back!) charity cycle ride, which is taking place on Saturday 8th September.

Raising money for the Lincoln-based cancer charity Candles, participants will leave Lincoln Cathedral at 8am and take in the beautiful Lincolnshire countryside and towns, including Bardney, Horncastle, Sutton on Sea, Skegness and Spilsby.

Last year the ride managed to raise over £1000 for the Candles charity. Chris Bain, a member of the organising committee, said: “We had such a good time getting out on our bikes for this event in 2011, and raised a good amount for a very worthy local cause, that we’re all very enthusiastic to go again this year. We’d love to have more riders join us”.

The ride is designed for adult riders of all ages. Riders are only required to carry on a steady cycling pace throughout the day, rather than straining to get back as quickly as possible. No special equipment is needed, as it is not a race!

It is recommended that riders cycle with a friend or in a small group (in single file) to help with encouragement and any emergencies, so please encourage friends and colleagues to join, too!

There is no cost to take part, but at least £20 in sponsorship must be raised for the charity. The application pack will include a sponsor form and further details of the ride itself.

We look forward to seeing you there!
