Boston Rowing Club have received Sportivate funding to deliver two six-week sessions of Rowing at their club over the summer.

The first sessions started on Sunday June 10th, and the second set of sessions start on Sunday July 8th. All the sessions run from 10am – 12pm and cost £6 for six sessions.

Nicola Housam, who secured the funding for the club, said: “This is a really great chance to explore rowing in a safe and relaxed environment. The qualified and experienced coaches are able to cater for all ages and abilities. Sessions are primarily for people aged 14 – 25, but if anyone outside this age wants to try rowing, then please get in touch with the club”.

Sportivate is a national programme, managed by Sport England and delivered by Active Lincolnshire Partnership, which funds six-week sport sessions to encourage teenagers to take part in sport.

Lucy Blakey, Children and Young People Officer at Active Lincolnshires Partnership, said: “Boston Rowing Club are working really hard to promote rowing to young people. I hope that the funding secured through Sportivate will allow them to encourage more youngsters from the area to try a sport they perhaps have never tried before.”
