16 primary schools from Lincolnshire took part in the Lincolnshire School Games Year 5/6 County Tag Finals at Sleaford RFC on Wednesday 23rd May.

The standard of play was very high with closely fought games throughout the day. The morning’s play produced four pool winners – Ayscoughee hall (Spalding), Ingham (nr Mkt Rasen), Uffington (Stamford) and St Botolph’s (Sleaford), who will all now progress to represent Lincolnshire at the forthcoming Tag to Twickenham Midlands finals at Leicester University.

The games were refereed by Young Leaders from John Spendluffe Technology College, Alford. RFU Community Rugby Coach Nathan Smith, who delivered the Young Leaders course, said: “It has been a great day of competitive school rugby for Lincolnshire. There has been some outstanding individual skill, along with brilliant team work, which has resulted in plenty of tries being scored. They have all represented their schools well.”

Overall, Ayscoughee Hall Primary School from Spalding went unbeaten, playing some fantastic rugby, scoring a total of 39 tries and only conceding 14.
