Lincolnshire Sports Awards 2017

Nominations for the Lincolnshire Sports Awards are open!

The Lincolnshire Sports Awards 2017, sponsored by Riseholme College, a part of Bishop Burton College, are back again for their fourteenth year on Thursday November 2nd at the Epic Centre, Lincolnshire Showground.

The nomination process for this year’s award will be open from Monday 22nd May – Friday 21st July 2017.

Please note: only nominations for people, clubs, schools or organisation who have links with Lincolnshire will count. Unfortunately we cannot accept applications for those from North Lincolnshire or North East Lincolnshire as these fall under the Active Humber area.

Sportsman of the Year
• Aged over 18 on the 2nd November 2017
• Have displayed an outstanding level of personal achievement at district, county, regional, national or international level.
• All achievements outlined are between November 2016 – 2nd November 2017.

Sportswoman of the Year
• Aged over 18 on the 2nd November 2017
• Have displayed an outstanding level of personal achievement at district, county, regional, national or international level.
• All achievements outlined are between November 2016 – 2nd November 2017.

Young Sportsman of the Year
• Aged under 18 on the 2nd November 2017
• Have displayed an outstanding level of personal achievement at district, county, regional, national or international level.
• All achievements outlined are between November 2016 – 2nd November 2017.

Young Sportswoman of the Year
• Aged under 18 on the 2nd November 2017
• Have displayed an outstanding level of personal achievement at district, county, regional, national or international level.
• All achievements outlined are between November 2016 – 2nd November 2017.

Veteran Sportsperson of the Year
• Competing at a Veteran level applicable to their sport
• Have displayed an outstanding level of personal achievement at district, county, regional, national or international level.
• All achievements outlined are between November 2016 – 2nd November 2017.

Disabled Sportsperson of the Year
• Aged over 18 on the 2nd November 2017
• Have displayed an outstanding level of personal achievement at district, county, regional, national or international level.
• All achievements outlined are between November 2016 – 2nd November 2017.

Young Disabled Sportsperson of the Year
• Aged under 18 on the 2nd November 2017
• Have displayed an outstanding level of personal achievement at district, county, regional, national or international level.
• All achievements outlined are between November 2016 – 2nd November 2017.

The Michael Beard Coach of the Year
• A coach can be paid or employed who has made a major contribution to the lives of people through their coaching and achieved positive results throughout the year. (Please note, for panel purposes there is a separate marking criteria for volunteer and paid coaches).
• All achievements outlined are between November 2016 – 2nd November 2017.

Sports Club of the Year
• Made a substantial contribution to the local community
• Must have achieved or be working towards Clubmark or similar club accreditation and have good school/community links.
• All achievements outlined are between November 2016– 2nd November 2017.

Sports Volunteer of the Year
• Aged over 18 on 2nd November 2017
• Have made an outstanding contribution to their club or activity by regularly giving their time as an official, administrator or volunteer. (Please note this does not cover a coach role, see above).
• All achievements outlined are between November 2016 – 2nd November 2017.

Young Sports Volunteer of the Year
• Aged under 18 on 2nd November 2017
Have made an outstanding contribution to their club or activity by regularly giving their time as an official, administrator or volunteer. (Please note this does not cover a coach role, see above).

Active Primary School of the Year
• A school that has made an outstanding contribution/approach to the delivery of physical activity, healthy lifestyle and wellbeing across the whole of the school.

Sports Department of the Year (Secondary, HE/FE)
• A department within a secondary school, college or university who has inspired or led change in PE, School Sport or the delivery of sport and physical activity.
• All achievements outlined are between November 2016 – 2nd November 2017.

Active Workplace Award
• A workplace whose employees have shown great commitment to taking part in an active lifestyle and are encouraged to do so by their employers.
• All achievements outlined are between November 2016 – 2nd November 2017.

Physical Activity Award (Programme)
• A programme, initiative or organisation that has made a significant contribution to physical activity in Lincolnshire.
• All achievements outlined are between November 2016 – 2nd November 2017.

Active Change Award (Individual)
• An individual who has used physical activity to make a positive difference in their life.
• All achievements outlined are between November 2016 – 2nd November 2017.

Lifetime Achievement Award
• Have made an outstanding contribution to sport in Lincolnshire for 25 years plus.
