Workshop 1 Options

Using social media to recruit, retain and inform members
delivered by Dr Josephine Perry, Performance in Mind
This workshop will consider how people of different ages use social media and what they are likely to be looking for from it. We will consider four channels (Twitter, Facebook groups, Instagram and LinkedIn for those working corporately) and look at the pros and cons of each and consider the type of content for each which is most effective for recruiting, retaining and informing members. Attendees should leave being clear on which channels they would like to use for their potential and current clients and have some fresh ideas for content.

Introduction to Behaviour Change
delivered by StreetGames
Changing behaviour is crucial to helping people to get and then stay active. This workshop introduces learners to the principles of behaviour change and demonstrates how these can be applied to the Doorstep (Community) Sport setting. On completion, learners will have a greater understanding of theories underpinning behaviour change and how to identify and apply interventions strategies to a range of situations.

Coaching the Person in Front of You
delivered by UK Coaching
In this streamlined workshop, delegates will gain a deeper awareness of why great people skills are an intrinsic part of being an effective coach. Ultimately, the more coaches understand and connect with people they coach – by observing, noticing and communicating – the more they will be able to support them and help them thrive.

Your staff are your most valuable asset. Behind coaches sit tutors, mentors, anyone in the workforce with a role to develop coaches. By investing in their development, you will enhance their ability, confidence and motivation and give them the essential skills needed to be able to deliver memorable learning experiences and thrive in their role. In this streamlined workshop we look at developing and modeling a person-centered philosophy to hone soft skills to enable them to have the greatest possible impact with each and every person they work with.
