What have you been up to in the last three months?

Well the last three months have been huge! I competed in the Sochi 2014 Winter Paralympic games in Alpine skiing winning 4 medals;

  • Downhill – Silver
  • Super-g – Bronze
  • Super Combi – Silver
  • Slalom – Silver

This has been an over achievement for me and I am delighted with the results. I had the most amazing experience over in Sochi and skied to my best with my guide Caroline Powell. My aim was to ‘podium at the Sochi Paralympics’ and I have achieved this from all the hard work, dedication, sacrifice I have put in over the last 4 years.

I never really thought about what getting a podium meant but to win a medal in every race I entered I now believe I am a good consistent performer and quite confident in myself. I have loved the influence the games and Channel 4 has had on the GB public and liked that everybody seemed to enjoy it as much as I did. I have now made history being Britain’s greatest Winter Paralympian and the first female to win a medal in Alpine Skiing, this will hopefully put Lincolnshire on the map.

What’s coming up?

I think now is a time for a long break and to be at home with my family and friends before I think about what happens next and whether to carry on competing or not.
