Lincolnshire is very well supported by some key partners that support the partnership in providing a wide variety of opportunities for people with disabilities.
There are more Leisure Centres accredited with the Inclusive Fitness Initiative than any other county of similar size in the country. If you are aged 18+ and have a disability, you might be eligible for Exercise Referral to help you get started. There are 170 wheelchairs used in PE lessons in schools thanks to the Wheelchair Sports Programme, plenty of sports clubs to choose from and a host of New Age Kurling clubs you might like to join. You can hire adapted bikes and have a day out with your family at four venues across the county, and there is a wide range of Sports Equipment you can hire from us to run activities with your friends and family, or start a new club of your own.
Lincolnshire is also working with Rounders England to roll out their newly created ‘Inclusive Rounders’ across the country. Active Lincolnshires Partnership has developed an adaptation of the sport to engage everyone to take part. Inclusive Rounders has been a huge success across the county working with individual schools and Rounders England have now commissioned Active Lincolnshires Partnership to develop their model and coaching course to four other County Sports Partnerships across the country.
