Championing Lincolnshire Magazine

Championing Lincolnshire is an online magazine celebrating the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Lincolnshire.

Developed by Active Lincolnshires Partnership and the Lincoln School of Journalism at the University of Lincoln, it forms part of Active Lincolnshires Partnership’s Legacy Strategy for the 2012 Games.

Five issues of the magazine will be published in July 2011, November 2011, April 2012, July 2012 and September 2012. The September 2012 issue will focus on the Legacy of the Games and what Lincolnshire has achieved as a county.

Issue 1 – July 2011

Includes an interview with Lincoln-based GB Sitting Volleyball player Andrew Skinner, an insight into the Lincolnshire School Games 2011, Your View on whether the Olympics will affect Lincolnshire, and much more.

Issue 2 – November 2011

Includes an interview with Games Maker Gary Campbell who will be volunteering at the football events at the Olympics, Lincolnshire dancer Laura Dunkerley who is auditioning for a role in the Opening Ceremony, an initial look at the Torch Relay route in Lincolnshire, the meaning behind mascots Wenlock and Mandeville, and much more.

Issue 3 – April 2012

Includes an interview with Heckington Paralympic hopeful Kieran Tscherniawsky, a look at how those in Lincolnshire without tickets will be celebrating the Games, celebrating 150 days until the Paralympic Games, how tourism from the Games will affect Lincolnshire, and much more.
