Sam Marshall – Operations Officer, Lincolnshire Active Community Network (LACN)
Coming from a childcare background originally, Sam entered into the health & fitness industry almost by accident after taking a small role within a gym as a children’s activity coordinator. Realising how much she enjoyed the role, Sam enrolled on a fitness instructor course to enable her to then continue on to complete the ‘delivering health related fitness to children’ qualification.
Since starting her fitness career in 2004 Sam has gone on to achieve level 3 qualifications in personal training, instructing exercise for disabled clients, pre/postnatal exercise, pilates, along with several level 2 qualifications including nutrition, exercise to music and core conditioning. Having worked as a Personal Trainer for several years and with experience in many aspects of the health and fitness industry Sam went on to set up and ran a successful fitness studio with a Physiotherapy company in 2010.
Leaving the studio in safe hands Sam joined Lincolnshire Active Community Network (LACN) in June 2012, excited by the prospect of being able to help communities access a diverse range of activities and sports throughout the county.
Sam firmly believes that everyone should have access to inclusive health, fitness, sporting and social activities and enjoys working with communities to remove any barriers which my restrict their participation and provide them with new opportunities.
Outside of her job role Sam spends her spare time with her husband & her two teenage children. Sam’s hobbies include good food, good company and staying in fit through running, circuit training and pilates classes.
