Navaz Sutton – Client Manager (Children & Young People)
Navaz has been involved in sports development since graduating in 2003 with a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science. He began his career as a sports lecturer responsible for coaching and health related modules and a range of practical sports.
With a keen interest in coaching Navaz secured a job as a Community Volleyball Coach in 2005. He worked with numerous schools in the county and supported club development along with establishing a county wide development programme for players and coaches. This has produced regional and national level athletes and lead to him winning local and national awards. He is now a UKCC tutor and coach mentor for the sport.
In 2008 he took up the role of Competition Manager where he was instrumental in restructuring the landscape of secondary school sport. Navaz worked on a strategic level with the schools network to align sports competitions to county, regional and national events whilst increasing participation and the range of sports available. Over his time in this role he developed a specific competitions website that increased school interaction as well as professionalised the outlook on school competitions.
Navaz joined Active Lincolnshire in 2011 as the Corporate Partnership Manager to manage and grow the Corporate Club and support the development of the commercial side of the organisation. Alongside this he also managed school club links and school sports competitions. Navaz is now the Children & Young People Manager with a responsibility for coordinating, developing and managing various projects and programmes targeted at individuals under the age of 25.
Out of work Navaz plays volleyball at National League level. Along with playing he runs Lincolnshire Volleyball Association and Lincoln Cannons Volleyball Club through the role as Chairperson and Club Head Coach.
