Louise Key – Project Delivery Officer (Coaching)

Louise has been playing netball in the Grantham League for over 20 years. During that time she qualified as a coach and umpire. In order to help her teams flourish Louise became a member of the County Association and Regional Management Board and held many role along the way as well as the Chair of the Grantham League when her children were young Louise volunteered in her local schools delivering lunch time and after school clubs.

In 2004 she put that knowledge to use by becoming a member of Active Lincolnshire as a Community Sports Coach. In this role she has developed High Five netball across the county as well as  the Central Venue High Five League for the Grantham primary schools, tutored and mentored many Young Sports Leaders, developed a multi skill programme for KS1 and tutored Playground Leaders Award, inspiring many KS2 children to take that first step into sports leadership.

In 2008 she was awarded the Community Sports Coach of the year awards at the Active Lincolnshires Awards for her commitment to netball away from her paid role.

Three years ago Louise then became the Lincolnshire Development Officer for England Netball. One of her main roles within this area is the development of Back to Netball schemes across Lincolnshire. The year 2012 saw the latest development of the scheme with five tournaments across the county.

Lincolnshire Netball has saw it’s best year to date in 2012 with six out of nine awards at the Regional Golden Globe Awards and two National Awards. The culmination of the partnerships between Louise and The County Association has seen Lincolnshire Netball voted Organisation of The Year 2012 at the Active Lincolnshires Awards.

Away from netball Louise loves going to the Isle of White every summer where her family keeps a speedboat for her four children to enjoy their water sports and there’s NO NETBALL ALLOWED!
