Chris Johnson – Performance and Insight Director

Chris started his career working in purchasing at Grimsby Borough Council and eventually progressed to a public and private sector contracts monitoring role at North East Lincolnshire Council where he developed performance management systems to monitor contract specifications.Chris Square

Chris’ next move was to Lincolnshire Police Authority in February 2000 as a Best Value Review Officer, where he worked for three years.  Chris reviewed a number of support and operational services including Corporate Development, Personnel, Training, Finance, Operational Support and ICT.  Whilst at Lincolnshire Police Authority Chris’ 7 years-worth of part time study came to an end with the successful completion of a BA (Hons) Degree in Business.

In March 2003 Chris joined the accountancy firm Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP in their public sector consultancy unit based at East Midlands Airport, where he worked on police and local authority performance management projects nationally, including the taser stun gun pilots across five police forces.

Following this he joined RSM Robson Rhodes in Leeds again working in public sector consultancy.  His main achievement here was a six month secondment to the Audit Commission where he worked as part of a team to successfully deliver seven fire and rescue comprehensive performance assessments across the eastern region (Essex, Suffolk, Staffs, Lincs, Norfolk, Cambs and Leics).

Driven by his passion for sport, Chris was lucky enough to secure a position with Sport England East Midlands back in October 2005 as the project manager of a sport improvement project working with all five county sports partnerships in the East Midlands region. Following this 2 and a half year role, Chris secured a position with the Active Lincolnshire in April 2008 working on performance and research management and eventually working his way up to his current position of Performance and Insight Director.

Outside of work Chris is a keen squash player and enjoys running and cycling.  Chris can often be found enjoying the countryside in the Lake District and along the North Norfolk coastline.  In other words he loves the great outdoors!
